Les débuts de la certification ISO 50001 au Maroc. Appel d'offres
CLEAN TECH consolide sa position de leadership dans les études d’impacts sur l’Environment ...
Increasingly higher energy needs, especially in emerging countries
Energy consumptions based for up to 80% on fossil fuels
Increasingly higher and volatile costs
A geographical concentration of resources and a limited pool of suppliers
Difficulties in access to and supply of energy
At the national level, Morocco has an economic growth that puts energy at the heart of its strategic challenges. Aware of the energy impact on the country’s development, Morocco tackled a profound reflection to better understand the issues it will have to face :
Energy consumption based largely on imported oil and coal (95%)
An energy bill that has tripled between 2003 and 2008 and continues to grow at the rate of 5% per year
A poorly diversified energy mix, including renewable energies
Morocco has identified a whole set of measures, defined in related programs and plans of action needed to support the country’s development. The following are among the strategic areas identified :
Securing, diversifying and strengthening supplies
Reducing specific energy consumption by 15% in 2020 and by 25% in 2030
Developing renewable energies with a coverage target of 40% of electric power production
Various structures were thus put into place: ADEREE (Agency for the Development of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency) formerly CDER, SIE (Energy Investment Company), MASEN (Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy). They are all intended to support the national strategy in this area. In parallel, the Moroccan government has undertaken a number of incentives to promote a legal framework for energy efficiency (Law 47-09 published in the Official Gazette of 17/11/2011).
In this context, CLEAN TECH brings all its experience and expertise in reducing energy bills, developing renewable energies, as well as in impact assessments with the view to participate in the national effort and to gain command over Morocco’s energy consumption.
